Family Fun Run

 

Sunday, September 1st, 2013 Labor Day!

Location: Whole Foods Market Roseville in the Fountains at Roseville Shopping Center

Events: 5k, 10k, 13.1-mile, and FREE Kids (10&Under) 1-mile Fun Run. Runners, walkers, strollers, leashed pets are welcome!

Course Info:

Fees:

  • 5k: $27 until 8/13/13. $35 after including race day
  • 10k: $35 until 8/13/13. $42 after including race day
  • 13.1-mile: $52 until 8/13/13. $60 after including race day.
  • Fun Run: Free! (This event is for kids ages 10&under. All ages may accompany young runners on the route!).
  • Youth Under 18 5k: $15; 10k: $20; 13.1: $30
  • Kids 1-mile Fun Run - FREE!

Schedule:

Saturday, August 31st - Registration/Packet Pickup:

2pm-6pm at Whole Foods Market. You may later register on Saturday, or Sunday morning starting 6am at the event venue in Whole Foods parking lot.

Sunday, September 1st - Race Day!

  • 6:00am: Late registration and pre-registered packet pickup begins in Whole Foods parking lot
  • 7:30am: 13.1-mile start
  • 7:40am: 10k start
  • 7:50am: 5k start
  • 7:55am: Kids Fun Run Start. Kids do NOT need to pre-register. Just show up, grab a number from the kids run table, and toe the line!
  • 10:00am: Harding/Galleria Blvd, Berry St, and Willis Rd signals open to traffic. 13.1-mile runners still on course must proceed on sidewalk and obey signal lights.
  • 10:30am: 13.1-mile cutoff time (3 hour pace). Runners/walkers are welcome to continue on course at a slower pace. Aid stations will be staffed for runners on 3-hour pace. Outside of 3-hour pace aid will be self-serve at the stations.

Participant Goodies

Choose two of the following:

  • Race-logoed running cap (lightweight, multicolored, microfiber/mesh, velcro closure)
  • sport beanie (tight fit, poly/spandex, flatlock stitched),
  • drawstring backpack (resilient fabric, custom Running School graphics),
  • Running School big-mouth jumbo-sized water bottle.

All finishers:

Division awards - logoed drinking mugs for top-3 in 10-year divisions, M&F, in 5k, 10k, & 13.1-mile

Finish Venue: Physical challenges and entertainment for kids (Rock climbing wall, Giant inflatable obstacle course, Spider maze, live performers), healthy food samples, various health & fitness promoting vendors. Event does not offer childcare so please make arrangements while you are running.

Volunteers: We need high-energy people to support kids fitness and healthy lifestyles for a few hours on Sunday morning. Please consider being part of the experience as a volunteer if you are not running. Contact info (at) runningschool.org or call 530-888-9911.

Promoting Healthy, Active Lifestyles: Being healthy has become increasingly difficult thanks to hectic, high-tech modern life. Kids in particular suffer from insufficient activity and poor dietary habits that have become a serious public health problem. Running School, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cardiovascular fitness with nearly 5,000 children at local partner elementary schools.

Whole Foods Market Roseville hosts regular outreach events, such as school field trips for healthy eating awareness, cooking classes, and holiday-themed healthy food celebrations.

Refund policy: If you cannot participate, we'll transfer your entry fee to 2014 at no charge until August 1st; $15 processing fee after August 1st till Thursday of race week. No transfers after Thursday of race week.
